5 Free Apps that Every Student Needs to Have

I’ve been there myself. Juggling projects, deadlines, and homework can be insanely overwhelming and difficult, with many students burning out halfway through the school year. However, there are so many free apps out there that can improve your organization, ability to focus and to make sure you stay on top of your work.
Here are five apps I’ve found and tested that really help me stay a productive student.
  1. Notion
Notion is an all in one workspace that combines notes, planners, and to-do lists to ensure that you stay organized and neat. Notion will help you to track assignments and deadlines, take notes, and organize classes so that you never turn in something late. Notion also has all kinds of templates and dashboards, allowing you to customize your Notion experience in your own way, even being able to create and edit templates!
  1. Google Keep
Although it seems basic, Google Keep can be one of your most effective methods at staying organized. It helped me to be able to jot down ideas quickly and securely, create quick checklists, and most importantly, it helped me to sync across devices. If you are a student you know that you can’t pull out your laptop everywhere, or your phone, and having the ability to jot down notes and ideas anywhere is essential.
  1. Forest
It seems strange at first, but I can promise you that Forest actually works. Forest app is a focus timer that “grows trees” when you stay off of your phone. This turns staying focused on your work into a game. Suddenly, you won’t be picking up your phone to “just check a notification” and you can remove distractions and actually focus on your work.
  1. Quizlet
A lot of you have probably heard of this app before, and if you haven’t tried it yet you absolutely need to. Quizlet is an app that has digital flashcards and other study tools all in one place. If you are (like me) a student that struggles with memorizing the vocabulary or terms of a class, Quizlet is for you. It also gives you practice quizzes and adaptive learning so you can start learning from anywhere. It is my personal favorite way of studying and should not be underestimated.
  1. Google Calendar
Google Calendar is another great tool for helping you become organized. Google Calendar schedules and sets reminders for deadlines, classes, or goals. It will help you to visualize weekly planning, color code events and timelines, and show notifications. This is a great tool that I use to help me balance my activities.

These apps can make you so much more organized and will help you to become more productive than you have ever been. Just try one app first, and I can promise you that it will help you to become more organized and in control of your life. With these five apps, you can finally be able to take charge of your life, balancing school with making money or as many other activities as you want.
